Madrone is an excellent turning wood and also takes stains and finishes well. However water based glue joints should be thoroughly dry before further machining to avoid subsequent sunken glue lines. Being a shrub it is not easy to find enough wood to make say exotic floors. The older madrone wood can be a lovely salmon pink color and even darker near the center heartwood on very old trees.
